Sm3+ doped Mn-Zn mixed ferrites: Synthesis and characterization

Pure and Samarium (Sm3+) doped Mn-Zn ferrites were synthesized using Co-precipitation method. The Sm3+ concentration varied from 0.1% to 0.3%. This was added the solution during synthesis of (Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4) at room temperature. precipitate so obtained annealed 200℃ for 4 h then crushed powder. powdered material subjected structural, morphological, compositional, optical magnetic characterization. XRD shows cubic spinal structure with crystallite size order 6 nm. TEM SEM images show spherical particles are in good agreement data. EDAX indicates stoichiometry elements present material. FTIR various functional groups samarium. VSM pure Mn:Zn ferrite hysteresis high magnetization, coercivity low remanence. All parameters decrease on doping. These get increased, compared values doping, increasing doping 0.2%. On further 0.3%, insignificant changes. that affects properties significantly only lower concentrations. changes due substitution tetrahedral octahedral positions. ionic radii mismatch between iron influence Mn0.5Zn0.5Fe2O4.
